Geralt of Rivia is a character in Netflix’s series, The Witcher. Lauren Schmidt Hissrich created The Witcher, a fantasy drama web television series for Netflix. It is based on the same-named book series by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski.

Why does Geralt carry one sword in the show?
Geralt may appear to always carry one sword at his back in the show. However, Geralt has two swords, a steel and a silver sword. The silver sword is frequently stowed in the saddle of Geralt’s horse, Roach, and only unsheathed when absolutely necessary.
In the series, Geralt of Rivia is promised a child surprise after saving Ciri’s father from being killed during a ball in Ciri’s mother’s palace. Geralt of Rivia falls in love with a powerful sorceress, Yennefer of Vengerberg.
