Why is Diana Princess of Wales famous?

Diana, Princess of Wales, was the first wife of Prince Charles, now King Charles III. She first came into the limelight, gaining local and global recognition when she got married into the British Royal family. However, she became very popular due to her charitable works, fashion style, and raising the profile of younger British designers. She was responsible for being the President of over 100 charity organizations all over the world.

She used her fame and celebrity status to raise awareness for a good number of causes which include leprosy, domestic violence, and mental health. In 1987, she became the talk of time and the front page discussion in several newspapers after shaking hands with an AIDS patient, raising awareness the disease was not as dangerous as people thought it was during that time.

She was also speaking widely against the Royal family and going against their will most of the time as she took her path on most occasions.
