Greg Abbott, known officially as Gregory Wayne Abbott, is a 64-year-old American politician who is serving as the 48th governor of Texas. Greg Abbott is an attorney and former jurist and he is a member of the Republican Party of the United States of America.

Greg Abbott is in a wheelchair because he was paralyzed after an oak tree fell on him as a result of a storm in 1984. Although Greg Abbott could walk after two steel rods were implanted into his spine, he underwent extensive rehabilitation and has used the wheelchair since the rehabilitation.
