Twenty years ago, Nolan started hosting The Stephen Nolan Show on BBC Radio Ulster. Since 2002, he has earned eight Gold Sony Radio Academy Awards.

Nolan has hosted his own weekend phone-in program for BBC Radio Five Live since July 16, 2005. It airs from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Fridays and Sundays and from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. on Saturdays.
