Alain Vigneault is a renowned Canadian professional ice hockey coach.

Alain Vigneault was born on May 14, 1961, in Quebec City, Canada. He has played in the 1973 and 1974 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournaments with a minor ice hockey team from Hull, Quebec, as well as East Ottawa.
Alain Vigneault had played as a defenceman in the QMJHL for four seasons. He was selected in the eighth round, 167th overall, by the St. Louis Blues in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft.
Alain Vigneault began his coaching career at the age of 25 in 1986–87, just a season following his retirement as a player. He began in the QMJHL. He has previously coached the Montreal Canadiens, Vancouver Canucks, New York Rangers and the Philadelphia Flyers in the NHL and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).

Alain Vigneault won his 700th career game as a head coach on February 28, 2021. This makes him only the ninth coach in NHL history to reach the milestone.

The Philadelphia Flyers fired coach Alain Vigneault on December 6, 2021, following eight straight losses. The team had a 7-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning with the loss extending their losing streak to 8 games while falling to an 8-10-4 record to begin the 2021-2022 season.
