Russian fighter Yana Kunitskaya competes in the women’s bantamweight division of the UFC. Kunitskaya made her debut competing for the women’s featherweight title after winning the Invicta FC belt. However, Cris Cyborg, the then-featherweight champion, easily defeated her. On May 23, 2009, Yana Kunitskaya competed in her first mixed martial arts match at the K-1 World Grand Prix 2009.

Kunitskaya had an 8-1 record towards the end of 2012 with just one loss, which was a unanimous decision.

Unexpectedly, Kunitskaya announced her retirement from mixed martial arts in August 2013. She added that she would shortly start working as a coach. Kunitskaya did, however, make a comeback on March 26, 2016, three years later. She lost the battle of subjugation. She had not anticipated this kind of return.
