Mina was born in Guachené, Cauca, Colombia. He began his career with Deportivo Pasto, making his professional debut in 2013. In 2014, he moved to Independiente Santa Fe, where he won the Copa Colombia in 2015. In 2016, he moved to Palmeiras, where he won the Copa do Brasil in 2016.
In 2018, Mina moved to Barcelona for a fee of €11.8 million. He made his debut for Barcelona on 11 August 2018, in a 2–1 win over Real Sociedad. However, he struggled to break into the first team at Barcelona and was loaned out to Everton in January 2019 and signed in a deal worth €30 million.
