Zach Parise Parents: Meet J. P. Parisé, Donna Parisé

Zach Parise is an American professional ice hockey left winger for the National Hockey League’s (NHL) New York Islanders.

Zach Parise is the son of J.P. Praise and Donna Parise. His father J. P. was a former NHL player. J.P. Praise entered the coaching profession after retiring in 1979.

He worked as an assistant coach for the North Stars for eight years, from 1980 to 1988. Jean also served as a scout and executive for several NHL teams.

In April 2008, he took over as coach of the Des Moines Buccaneers of the United States Hockey League, where he stayed for one season.

Parise’s father was diagnosed with cancer during the Winter Olympics. Parise’s father died on January 7, 2015.

Zach Praise was drafted 17th overall by the Devils in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and went pro after his sophomore season, spending a year with the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Zach Parise has represented the United States at a variety of events. He helped the United States ice hockey team win gold at the 2004 World Junior Championships, where he was named Most Valuable Player, Best Forward and made the Tournament All-Star Team.
