His mother later underwent naturalization, making Luca’s roots deeply intertwined with French nationality. The cultural amalgamation doesn’t end there; he has two sisters, Sofia and Elisa, a brother Paolo, and cousins Gabriel and Tristan, painting a picture of a close-knit family.

The tennis prodigy spent his formative years in various regions of France, moving from Aix-en-Provence to Lyon and then to Paris. The diverse cities not only contributed to his cultural exposure but also played a role in shaping his unique perspective as he navigated the complexities of adolescence.

Currently studying at Paris Dauphine University, Luca Van Assche showcases a commitment not only to his athletic pursuits but also to his academic growth. The balance between sports and education reflects a holistic approach to life, emphasizing the importance of well-rounded development.

Turning professional in 2021 marked a significant milestone in Luca’s tennis career. Since then, he has rapidly ascended through the ranks, earning himself a wildcard entry into the qualifying event at the 2022 Open Sud de France.

His achievements extend to singles as well, with a career-high ATP singles ranking of World No. 65 achieved on August 31, 2023. In the doubles arena, he reached a career-high ranking of World No. 344 on October 3, 2022.

At just 19 years old, Luca Van Assche stands as the second youngest player in the top 100, following closely behind Arthur Fils.
