What isav Is
isav is a free online tool that saves public Instagram media (videos, Reels, photos, carousels, Stories and IGTV uploads) directly to your device. There is no app to install, no account to create and no watermark added to your files.
Why We Built It
Instagram deliberately offers no save button, so keeping a copy of something you care about means either a lossy screenshot or an untrusted third-party app. Neither is good enough. Creators need a backup of their own work, designers collect visual references, and everyone has lost a Story to a 24-hour timer. isav makes saving a single paste-and-click step in a browser you already trust.
How It Works
When you paste a link, isav reads the public information Instagram already publishes for that post and locates the original media file. Downloads are streamed through our own server so your browser saves a complete file with a clean name, rather than being handed a raw link that may expire mid-transfer. We only ever touch content that is publicly visible.
What We Believe
- Privacy first. We never ask for your Instagram login and we do not keep a record of what you download. See our Privacy Policy.
- Respect for creators. Media belongs to the people who made it. Save for personal use, and always get permission before reposting.
- Public content only. Private accounts stay private. We do not log in and cannot reach follower-only material.
- Free, with no dark patterns. No paywalls, no download limits and no misleading buttons.
Honest Limitations
We would rather be straight with you than overpromise. isav cannot download from private accounts, cannot recover Stories that have already expired, and cannot remove a watermark a creator burned into their own video before uploading. Instagram also changes its systems periodically, which can briefly affect availability.
