What Happened to IGTV?
IGTV launched as Instagram's separate home for long-form vertical video, with its own app and a dedicated /tv/ URL. In 2022 Instagram folded it into the main video experience. The standalone app was retired and new long uploads simply became regular Instagram videos or Reels.
The legacy links still work, which is why this page exists. If you have an old instagram.com/tv/… address saved in a bookmark or a message, paste it here and isav will resolve it exactly as it does any current video link. Newer long-form uploads work the same way.
Built for Larger Files
Long videos create a practical problem that short clips do not: file size. A ten-minute upload can run to several hundred megabytes, and a naive download can stall or arrive truncated on an unstable connection.
isav streams the file through its own server rather than handing your browser a raw link that may time out. The download carries the correct length and content type from the start, so your browser shows accurate progress and writes a complete, playable MP4, not a partial file that fails halfway through.
Watch Offline Without Using Mobile Data
The most common reason to save a long Instagram video is bandwidth. Downloading a tutorial, interview or full workout over Wi-Fi and watching it later on a plane, a commute or a weak signal costs nothing extra and never buffers.
It also future-proofs the content: long videos are removed or made private just as often as short ones, and a local MP4 keeps working regardless of what happens to the original post. Because isav is a downloader and not a converter, the file keeps its original high quality and needs no extra software to play.
