Viewing Instagram Without an Account
Instagram increasingly pushes logged-out visitors towards a sign-up wall. Scroll a public profile in a browser and a login prompt tends to cover the content after a post or two. That is frustrating when someone has simply sent you a link and you do not have an account, or you are on a shared computer and do not want to sign in.
isav sidesteps the wall by fetching the post's public media directly and presenting it on its own. There is no infinite feed, no prompts and no recommendation engine, just the media from the link you pasted.
What 'Anonymous' Does and Does Not Mean
isav never signs in to Instagram, so nothing you do here is attached to an account, yours or anyone else's. No view is registered against your profile and no notification is generated by isav, because no account is involved in the request at any point.
It is worth being precise about the limits of that. isav is not a surveillance tool: it cannot show private profiles, it cannot reveal who viewed a Story, and it will not access anything Instagram does not already publish publicly. If a profile is private, its content is out of reach here, as it should be.
Preview First, Then Decide
The viewer is deliberately a two-step flow. Pasting a link shows you a preview and identifies whether the post is a video or a photo, and how many items a carousel contains. Only then do you choose whether to download anything.
That is useful when you are working through a list of links and only want some of them, or when you simply want to check what a link points to before you save the video on a mobile device with limited storage.
